Procedures
When you enter the classroom:
- Walk in quietly and sit down in your seat. - Quickly sharpen your pencil (if needed). - Take out your Social Studies supplies. - Write down the homework. - Begin silently working on the warm up. *Each student's composition book will be checked periodically. This check will lead to a classwork grade. It is imperative that each student complete the warm up everyday. * |
If a student wishes to:
- Use the bathroom, s/he must raise their agenda. (Each student is allowed to one bathroom pass and one emergency pass a week in Social Studies.) - Visit the nurse, s/he must raise their agenda. - Sharpen their pencil, s/he must raise their pencil. - Get a tissue, s/he must raise their index finger. |
When a student is absent:
If a student is absent it is the student's responsibility to check the absent bin and collect the missing work from the day(s) s/he was absent. The absent work bin is located on the table next to the entrance of the classroom. The student has the same amount of days to complete the missed work as absent. Completed work should be placed in the absent folder which is located next to the absent bin.

Consequences
Students are to abide by the general rules listed in the Student Code of Conduct along with the classroom rules and procedures at all times. In the event a student is not following these rules, the following measures may take place:
- Reprimand
- Seat Change, Student/Teacher Conference, Time Out
- Time Out, Parent/Guardian Contact, Detention Packet
- Administrative Referral
